So I just posted my other thread about my grow setup in an old antique icebox using 4 6500k 26 watts CFL's and 2 2700k CFL's and am wondering if A.) I should go with the good old soil method (if so what kind of soil and add-ons perlite,vermiculite...etc) or B.) hydroponic setup (what type and what is the easiest way to go about making my own?)

Currently I have a little bagseed that has sprouted up about 3 inches in 2 days. Im really excited and think this could turn out quite well!!! I hope to post pics soon

I'd say go with soil for the first grow. The general consensus around here seems to be with Fox Farms (don't do soil, they don't sell it here anyway). Edit: they don't sell Fox Farm here, not soil :-P

I found that coco was really great for my first time. I use Advanced Nutrients PH perfect line and it does just what advertised. I got it at www.sunflowersupplies.com or something like that and I found that was the best price on the net.

Here is a website that helped me get to a great harvest. www.growweedeasy.com just follow the step by step instructions (they have a great cfl set up) and you will have some top shelf in about 4-6 months. Good luck!

Im using botanicare products for my current grow, soil and dwc(doing side by side). 1 plant was a lil over 3 weeks old when I pulled it out of the dirt and threw it into a 5 gallon dwc setup with a botanicare solution and it bounced back the same day. And the ones in soil are looking good too.

Dyna grow makes a food for plants for both vegging and flowering, dyna grow foliage for vegg and dyna grow bloom for flowering. Soil is best depends on your willingness to mess with ph scale will depend on what kind u get add perlite to the soil for better drainage also pebbles on the bottom of pot helps drainage too, don't use vermiculite unless your starting germination, vermiculite is made for germination and seedlings before transplanting. Good luck

Not exactly sure where to buy the fox farm soil in stores around my area, and don't want to pay top dollar from a hydroponic store. The General Organics GO box starter kit looks like a winner in my book. For $40 you really can't go wrong. I will have to order this soon before the rest of my seeds show up.
