Still, I feel like CFL and LED get a bad name or get overlooked or undervalued but they can be used to grow very prosperous plants

Really? CFL maybe but there are dozens of LED fans that tell us HID growers that we're using outdated technology, their LED's pulling 200 watts at the wall produce better than a 1000 watt HPS, etc.
If anything LED's are overrated or people try and justify spending $1500 for a light when a $200 HID setup will yield the same quality and quantity. Regardless, why care what gets overlooked or undervalued? Just grow your weed with the lights you have. Harvest and smoke. We are growing plants correct?

I personally am all for HID setup cuz that's how my dad, uncle, grandpa etc always grew. And I admit that I spent quite a bit more than my wife would have liked on all my LEDs. I'm currently looking into an HID setup for my new grow area for my mother plants in fact. What my point is I guess is that EVERY setup can be very effective if its SET UP correctly for your particular grow. Everywhere else we are in total agreeance brother!

And because what is said on these threads greatly influences lots of new growers, myself included, on a regular basis, we should be promoting ALL grow setups and helping suggest ways to make whatever setup they chose more effective.

I don't see any logic to promote cfl, old blurples or even MH. If those are all you have at hand then you pulled a short straw and should upgrade when you can, no point being in denial about it.

I love my CFL's. They are a great supplemental lighting.
They work GREAT on seedlings and clones and then are added light to your setup. I definitely prefer the performance from my LED's though
