Hey everyone a quick question about water temperture. I have two outdoor plants and just watered them this evening without thinking i grabbed the water i had set out to water with, ran out and watered and fed them. The water temp was about 70 or 71 degrees. Is this too cold? the air temp was about 80. And our high today was about 90. thanks.

If anything it would cool the roots which would be good in hot weather...basically as long as your water isnt boiling or near freezing your fine.

Never even thought about measuring water temp. I draw water into a tub, let it sit for a day, water the girls next morning. Water is the same temp as the plants, i would think.

How cold is rainwater usually? Plants love that shit.

I grow in R/DWC where cool water temps are essential for plant health (I try to keep my water below 20ºC/68ºF). Mold and fungus thrive at higher temps, plants absorb less water, water evaporates causing a concentration of nutrients in the water and a build up of salts around the waterline.

While I don't grow outdoors I think the principle would be the same. I'm sure the ground temps would quickly stabilize the water temps as it was being absorbed.

The roots love being cool.. use cold water! roots turn brown and nasty if they get too warm in colder temps the roots stay white, I've used warm water I have used cold water..I will always try to use cold. 5o to 60 temp
