I used to buy corn cob pipes. It just seemed appropriate to use a redneck pipe to smoke weed at the time. THe clerk at the 5&10 cent store never asked why I was buying them either. Kinda harsh until they were broken in. Used to steal screens out of my dad's plumbing drawer.
Me too, I've had a handful of various glass pipes. I never broke them because I barely used them. I dislike pipes. My kids brought me this pipe from Mexico. Although I've used it more than any other pipe I've owned I still prefer joints.

I'm in the same boat with pipes. They burn the crap out of my throat, however I do get a better gauge of terps/taste with a pipe.
Hold the smoke briefly in your mouth. It reduces the throat burn for me. A friend told me that and it made pipe smoke less noxious. I am very happy with the Raw papers I use. I get zero paper taste/interference with terpenes.

I have to give raw props. I didnt enjoy joints for ages until I found raw and had no idea the impact a simple paper could put forward. I also get a far more even burn with them.
I take a pipe with me here and there on mountain bike journeys for pure convenience, and I'll give the mouth hold technique a go. I treat everything like a bong and deep lung of habit. It hits me when I use a MTL vape and nealry die.
I should favour joints more as the constant deep bong hits and moisture can't be good for my lungs. I then gross myself out sometimes when I don't clean it often enough and think about all the gross crap going into my lungs.
What is an MTL vape? I have the small vape pens and a large digital Volcano. The Volcano always makes me cough my lungs out but I get an amazing cerebral high from it. Lately I've just been using a dab straw (I bought a press). So it's this when I'm on the go

that could not be more true. I vape because a pack of 20s here is $35. Everytime i sit somewhere and cloud i get some dude wanting to talk about our vapes for half an hour...im like....dude, its just my form of nicotine replacement. It's not my identity.
It's like vapers clothing habits. Wearing a vape branded shirt or hat is like a necessity. How often do you see smokers wearing cigarette branded clothing apparel....never.
