So which is it because I was wondering the same thing? Whats RO?
And if I was to use the 5 gallon jugs of purified water or Tap water in southern California, besides adjusting the PH would I need to adjust chlorine levels?

rain water....snow, sleet, hail.... fresh out the sky.... can you beat that? ha... but seriously...when it starts to drop just throw something outside to catch it, then put it in bottles and let it sit at room temp... i remember i opened a bottle and it smelled funny and i still poured it on the plants.... the plants loved it, ha

so why don't you just pee on them since you're so lazy..... maybe even pop in some porn and bust all over it while you're at it..ha

i use tap also.... but what i was saying, if it starts to rain, snow, hail whatever.... get that water.... leave it in bottles at room temp and that free rain water will be healthier than the free tap water... goal: free water... not with the buying bottled water thing and ph strip testing stuff... lazy and cheap

So if I am growing in a soiless mix, I should get my ph down to the 5s instead of the 6s?

I would start them at 5.9 and work your way up to 6.4 which is the sweet spot for soil! I always start seeds at 5.7 and by the to e there ready to flower, ph at 6.4 gradually raising every week. Works best for me :)

Distilled water is the best way to go.
Tap water can be used if sat out for 24 hrs to let the chlorine dissipate.
Bottled/Purified water I feel has far too many additives
"natural spring water" has far too many dissolved solids.
Rain water. same as with Spring water.
But any can be used if used properly. I go for the distilled water coz its pretty much plug and play. IE: add yer nutes and go with it. Cheap too.
