I encountered this problem as I was setting up my show in the basement. Most noise comes from vibration going through whatever means you attach your fans to walls/ceilings. I suspended my exhaust from bungee cords. Works AMAZING. I never got my wall mounted fans to be quite, just deal with the noise.

That's known as conduction. Bungee, being elastic, is not very conductive at all. Unless it's stretched to near max, then it's conductive again. So... just hang it so it stays nice and springy.

Omg this is exactly the question I was about to ask. Here is my homework i have done so far.

Im a first time grower, im actually growing my first plants from seeds and have had 7 seedlings grow their dented leafs and are about 5 inch tall after 2 weeks ou of 11 seeds.

Now my plan is to construct and btw have begun to build a 13 X 9 x 8. In my garage. Plan is to exhaust out of the attic while limiting the noise an heat as much as possible. Now after nailing down divisions and stuff in my garage i noticed that I was waking up my neighbors. (The asshole was in between my garage and his house in the dark squating to find out where the noise was coming from) so its them that I decided to condemn my 2nd door, towards my house instead of the farther one.

So since i am aware that there will be alot if humming and such coming out if such a room, I decided to read up on this.

Firstly, I found 2 solutions that may help. First is a component that replaces fiberglass (pink insulation) and use Roxul quietsound insultatiin sells at home depot, and secondly, ruber brakets where you mount your driwall on instead of screwing into the trust that eliminates the vibration transfer of sound.

It might be my first grow but I like doing things right the first time and am Optimistic.

Let me know if Im on the right track.!5

Use the cheaper fiberglass. Rubber and drywall is not done for soundproofing.

Are you looking to soundproof the garage, or just isolate the fans?

I'm actually building a room inside of the garage, not attached to the garage walls, totally independent. The rubber brackets that distance the drywall from the studs IS a good sound proofing solution.. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Bf5syq09qa0

And yes the fans are going to be isulated by wooden/MDF box and be suspended for extra soundproofing.

Ah. Those are isolation clips and channel. Make sure you remove any drywall before installing them on your garage walls. You will want a lot of mass on the channel, like double 5/8" drywall.
