what type of lights can i use?

hi i,m wondering if i can use a 125 watt or 250 watt flourescent bulb on my seedlings as im planning to grow 4 seedsand also when can i start putting light on to the seedlings!

once the seedling comes through the soil it can start getting light and you are better off surrounding the plants with decent size cfls than having a couple big ones

what once the seedlings come through how they gonna come through if no light is hitting the soil keep the light on them to let the babies poke through

they come through the soil growing without light just with water.. you can put the lights on them they just dont need it until they are out of the soil thats when they can start to use the light to grow

I like to give them a couple of days of sun (I've toasted them before with cfl) then into the spa..I vegged with 2 X 26w cfls.....Get to about 4-5 set then.. MORE POWER.......=..............more weed.

Cheaper with HPS?? Are you sure? if your using the same HID unit you can just change the bulb between MH and HPS. Retail at about £15.00.

Is there a difference in running costs between the two lights? I thought not.
