What to grow in?

I'm planning on doing my first grow (outdoor) when it gets warmer and I'm growing ak47. So could I just take the soil out of our garden? It is soil mixed with compost and I'm nervous that it may burn my plant. Or should I mix potting soil with it or just use straight potting soil? My plants are going to be in pots if that helps. Thanks and peace

Without knowing the soil analysis of your garden soil, it would be difficult to make a recommendation. If you fear that it is too hot, do not use it to start your seedlings. Start them in dixie cups or seedling trays in seedling soil (low nutrient) and then transplant into hotter soil as they get bigger.

If you want to play it safe and are only growing a couple of plants I suggest digging holes (at least the size of a 5 gal bucket) and put in the 5 gal bucket and filling it with proven grow medium like Happy Frog. It's the best way to ensure that you have the right stuff for your plants.
