What To Do With A 10 Cfl Light System?

my patients friend brought me over this light fixture that he mounted 10 cfls into. to be honest it looked like a fire hazard. wires everywhere on the top electrical taped on. i told him CFLs dont have the light penetration of a hps. i even showed with the light meter to prove it. its a total of 200 something watts and he said it will put out almost as much lumens as my 600w hps which i know for a fact is way off. you just cant beat a hps.

i just dont know wtf to do with this thing. my flower room i have 2 600w hps. in veg i have a 400w hps, 6 bank t5 HO, and a single 42w CFL for small clone batches. there is nothing this thing could replace. any ideas of what to do with it besides toss it in the dumpster?

Since you have all that other stuff I would just pass it onto someone else or throw it away (legally, I don't think cfl can go in regular trash?). Maybe you could recycle the bulbs for use around the house?

think you're right. they should put a deposit on them. the simple things america could do to help prevent pollution. im no treehugger but damn these things are supposed to be eco friendly? the company and government should assume no one is going to take time to recycle them. everyone i know throws them straight in the garbage including myself. if i could throw them with my recyclables it would be different, but i dont make any special trips for other shit except old scrap metal. sorry to be off topic.

yeah i could use them around the house. but i dont see any use whatsoever in the grow room. i dont clone a lot cause i have to stay in my legal plant limit. my 1 cfl is plenty. thanks tho.
