What to do when it goes to seed?

Seeds formed on a single plant, once I noticed it I kept it separate but now its basically seeds and pollen so Im go throw away.

Are these seeds viable, worth growing out, started out a fem Thunderfuck seed, not sure what to do with it all. I was the only one to turn is that common?

Don't throw the plant out. You've already separated it. Might as well finish it, harvest, dry, pick out seeds, and smoke.

Thank you. Are the seeds worth growing out? Its either a Thunderfuck or a Thunderfuck x Wedding Gelato. They are big pretty seeds. Hoping I didn't screw up room not sure why they hermied

Potentially, ya. I've never grown out seeds from a hermie because I had always been told they were more likely to hermie again. But recently I've seen a bunch of people plant seeds from a hermie and grow perfectly fine weed so I'm no longer so certain

from what breeder was the thunderfuck may i ask??also stems seem very red almost cold and underfed, could this have been the problem of it hermieing??

Everything I’ve found has pointed me to something like a 25% chance that a seed made from a female pollinated by a true hermie will result in a hermie. The only information I’ve even able to find about the seeds made from self pollination is that they are not desirable seeds. Maybe they just have a higher chance of producing hermies?

Your seeds are likely to have similar traits as the mom. Thus, some plants will probably throw a little pollen when they're grown in the same conditions that made the mom throw pollen. If the mom threw pollen because there was a little light leak, fix the light leak and the seeds may be perfectly fine female S1 seeds. If the mom threw pollen when everything was perfect, some seeds will throw pollen when everything is perfect. You obviously don't want to grow those seeds out. But don't be too scared of those seeds if you know they were STRESSED into herm and you can remove that stress.

Also, if you let the seeds fill out and mature, they'll pop out of the seeded bud more easily. The stuff around the seeds has a lot of trichs... you can do what you want with that once you've got the seeds out....definitely good enough for smoking or extracting. If you get pissed and chop it fast, you can end up with a lot of lumpy partially formed seeds that are hard to separate out and make the stuff unsmokable.

Ask yourself... would I want to grow a clone of that seeded mom again? If you wouldn't, you probably shouldn't grow the seeds if you have other options. But if you'd regrow a clone of the mom even though it seeded some this time, then definitely save the seeds at least. You might end up with some plants as good as mom that never herm too.

yes maybe I'm new to soil probably didnt feed veg nutes long enough temp never gets below 80 but I'm working on dropping room -10 degrees during lights out.

Royal queen seeds and only 1 plant did it it's very most likely my fault

I only just started smoking and the first plant I had was a gift from a friend. It had seeds but I didn't know any better and it was my first smoke, now I'm growing my own from those seeds so it obviously wasn't too bad. :) Gentlemencorpse made the comparison that seeded smoke is like a cheeseburger compared to a rib eye. Both are tasty, but it obviously makes sense to go the rib eye route if you have the choice.

Still, cheeseburger? Would you throw a cheeseburger out? :)

I remember the very first time I ever grew it was out door and the seeds where give to me that was along time ago before seed banks where well known I had a Hermie It had tons of seeds lol I isolated it harvested it ended up with alot of seeds the rest of my crop was great. Not to mention what bud I was able to save from the Hermie wasn't bad at all tbh it had a smell that today I couldn't really explain it was like a cheesy pine burnt rubber smell. It looked almost like the picture of little cheese from Nirvana I believe not sure of the breeder exactly but anyways. Cheers :eyesmoke:

The very first cross I ever made was years ago using pollen from some nanners that popped late in flower from one plant that I used to pollinate another plant. Those seeds grew fire and I shared that cross with many people. All of them thought the weed was spectacular and nobody that grew out any of those plants I provided them from that seed ever had an issue with hermies. But these were just simple growers that grew in big pots outdoors in at best Black Gold potting soil. The only nutes they used were either Alaska fish or some Miracle Gro. Never one hermie out of lots of plants started from those seeds.

Now years and at least three dozen crosses I've made I still remember that cross and still have people ask if they can get a clone of it. But unfortunately due to various circumstances I lost it some time ago. It was a ribeye not a cheeseburger even though it's father was pollen from nanners. I've thought about trying to recreate it. I even have half the genetics used to make it but chances of recreating it the way it was are slim. It would be like the people trying to recreate a strain like Gorilla Glue #4. They might have created a great strain but it's never going to be like the original. And Gorilla Glue #4 is a product of hermie pollination yet people have been raving about it for years.

So just because the seeds came from hermie pollination it doesn't mean that they won't be any good or worth growing. Anyone who says that then tell them to look no farther than Gorilla Glue #4. That should shut them up real quick.

Triangle Kush.... hermie seeds. Most OG cuts....hermie seeds, many from Triangle Kush. All the chemdog clones... bag seeds, likely from hermies. Sour Diesel?... most likely hermie seed from chemdog stuff. Cinderella 99/Princess/Genius/ Apollo 11 & 13 ... all started by mystery Jack Herer bag seeds... I think they found a male or two, but they never would have known if they assumed they were dreaded and worthless "herm seeds".

Which do you guys prefer regular or feminized seeds and why? Now the conversation has been brought up I'd like to hear. Cheers.:eyesmoke:
