Yea get a timer for your lights. and I agree with the above post. water before you leave and you should be good. I only water my mothers every 7+ days, and they are doing great (I have about 30% perlite in my soil). they are in my grow journal if you want proof.

you really think watering before leaving will be anough for the plant? because im growing under a 400w hps light and it dries the plant out pretty quick.. i usually water 3 times a day

yeah 3 times a day is way too often, unless your in hydro. I have to water my plants every 5 days. Either your overwatering or you're pots are way too small...

i agree. just water realy good. if you are worried about too much evaporation, just raise your lights a little. a couple-few days won't stretch them that bad. but i think that a good watering will do it good. try it while you are there first, to see how it reacts.
just water like you re doing a small flush to make sure its saturated and let it go for a few days and watch it. i use a layer of hard topsoil on top to discourage evaporation from the good soil underneath.

Yep. 3x a day is insane.

Most stores with a garden section sell Automatic Plant Waterers of the variety like this: PlantMinder™ Water Bulb - Lee Valley Tools

I use a 5 gallon bucket and pond pump and a timer. I have another bucket with hoses running from the bottom to each of my plants hanging above the plants. Every few days the timer turns on the pump for a few minutes and fills the bucket and the plants get watered. Works perfect.

yeah you should let the soil completely dry out before watering again so the roots can search for water making them grow nicely. just stick your finger like 3 inches into the soil to check for moisture. this also lets them get some air once in a while....makes a big difference.

i go 4 days without watering and 3 days for vegitive plants. so just water before you leave and it'll be alright. unless its in a tiny lil cup or something in that case you should transplant..lol
