What to do about roots growing out of your drain hole

agreed. just leave them alone and they will air prune themselves. just because you have roots showing doesn't mean you are ready for a transplant yet.

One thing, if your using store bought pots and the drain holes are on the side, search for pots with the drain holes on the bottom, if you're making them yourself than never mind.

This goes for any other noobies who may read this as well.

Next time you fill a pot with soil, cover over the drain holes with little pieces (about 2" or 3" square) of window screen materiel before you add the soil. This will also stop the medium from leaking out the bottom and making a mess. You can use almost anything for this, in the past I have even used old, cut up, T-Shirts.

This has been helpful to this noobie. I am going to start some party cups and let them stay in the cups all the way through till harvest. Thought the roots might become a problem:wall:.... but now I have a prevention. Thanks for the info.
