Thanks for the feedback. pH is good but I am still trying to get the FF nutes right (3 yrs in). I provide FF trio nutes very lightly now, like 1/3 or none. pH is 6.0 to 6.3, never higher. With this plant I went quite a bit lighter on nutes due to past Nitrogen burning. This means less CalMag too. I need to read up on that.Without knowing nutes and schedule it looks like cal mag def. OF would have been long drained by now at week 11.
Wait is that a 5 gallon bucket? does it have drain holes? Bottom of plant looks rough. It looks like a few things going on.
When more than one thing presents I think PH issues. Then you have to find out why.
Agreed. If you're using soil and adding calmag I'd be willing to bet that's the problem right there.
Can you please elaborate on this. Thanks. If you're using soil and adding calmag I'd be willing to bet that's the problem right there.
Sure. You're adding in nutrients you don't need to. So you end up overloading calcium and magnesium, and getting lockout and toxicity. Can you please elaborate on this. Thanks.
Are you saying that soil already has an abundance of cal mag and adding is not necessary?Sure. You're adding in nutrients you don't need to. So you end up overloading calcium and magnesium, and getting lockout and toxicity.
Cal mag is one of the most overused products.
Depends on your water reallyAre you saying that soil already has an abundance of cal mag and adding is not necessary?
Agreed.Depends on your water really
That's why I am asking for clarity. My local water is 200 plus ppm so I use a hardwater micro. A poster above said if growing in soil do not add cal mag. This confuses me as I have never heard such a thing.Depends on your water really
What does the soil have to do with it? Are you saying some soil already have an abundance of cal mag?Agreed.
Depends on the soil as well.
I am the op. I didn't say don't add cal mag. That's why I am asking for clarity. My local water is 200 plus ppm so I use a hardwater micro. The op said if growing in soil do not add cal mag. This confuses me as I have never heard such a thing.
I did not mean op. I meant the person that told you if you are adding cal mag to soil that is your problem. Corrected my original post. Cheers.I am the op. I didn't say don't add cal mag.
I added very low amount. Much less than FF says to use and they make the soil. Wonderful soil I might add. But .. it's hard to read the soil. Even ppm seems like a black box.
My program which has some success.
FF ocean forest.
Always pH at 6 or so.
Don't add any nutes til 4-5 weeks in, or more, with FF OF.
Add 1/3 what FF says to use. I learned that from using it over 3 years.
Add nutes every other watering at this point.
Skip 2-3 days between watering.
Of all the things I have learned, one is that on this forum, which I use and appreciate, a poster will see many contradictions . 180 degrees out . But that's part of learning. Filtering. Using what makes sense to you and learning as the plants change in front of you. I use a log . It helps me look back.
That seems mostly what I believe but I'm still adjusting. Seems their soil should be the same today as 3 years ago. Manufacturing and consistent product is keyI know for instance that for me ffof soil has been really hot lately and I don't have to add additional nutes till later in flower and nothing added in veg. Is this what you guys are saying?
