For those of you who have that stereo-type and continue to think we Japanese follow our native culture...We don't. I was American born, therefore that's all I know. I represent the star spangled banner and nothing more or less. Which makes me just as guilty as the next American.

The reports are coming in that the Japanese up in lines to get water and food, the stores are cutting prices when they can to help out. There is NO LOOTING going on.

People are pitching in helping one another they are not sitting on their asses waiting for someone to come and save them or waiting for a welfare check or child support from their baby daddy/mama.

What is keeping Japan in good spirits is because the majority of the people are ethnic Japanese, their culture has not been eroded by multiculture diversity like it is here.

The USA once had this type of culture, in the area I live it is still alive and doing well, but in many places in the USA it has completely disappeared.

All we have to do is compare the moral turpitude of Hurricane Katrina which was beyond comprehension from the worst as worst gets..Then take a look what has happened in Japan to see the difference in morals, ethics and character in times of peril and disaster. They lead by example and its definitely something many people never do or ever think to.

Good then we don't have to waist any money helping Japan! We as Americans are fucked as a country and as a people, that is why we need to stop borrowing money to give to other countries and help ourselves out first! Get our own house straight before we help others.

Well said Tomoyo....the American culture is one of handouts and when they get a chance, they take more....minorities (otherwise called blacks) have degraded our schools, our culture, and ruining everything they touch......in the sixties, naacp advised blacks to move to the cities cause that's where the federal moneys will go ....guess what....most major cities are ruled by blacks for blacks....to hell with whitey...they know we will just move out....
Blaze away if you wish.....just telling it like I've witnessed it first hand for 60+ years.....

I remember at the same time as Katrina there was a snowstorm that devastated the midwest (predominantly white) and it was not on the news, they did not ask for help and there was no looting, so there is some truth to what Oldreefer said. The thing is America has so many different cultures it is virtually impossible to compare it to any other country on Earth.

We should knock out the sick and poor like your avatar! LOL America being the one standing of course.
LOL!! Now that would be a sight to see!!

Guys I know everyone on here is frustrated and angry one way or another.. We gotta form together as human beings and just get things done ourselves, we don't need to wait on our government to act out and help, if you want, donate what you can to Red Cross...

I'm not saying we should help others from a foreign country at the drop of a dime..infact it makes me angry that our country or "bureaucratic asshat government" as I call them..Should help our people first..getting us back to work etc....and NEVER refer to me as you guys "helping me" because you've done everything but that. I don't expect handouts from anyone I work for what I have.

blacks only account for roughly 10% of the US population, it's easy to blame them for all of the problems in our society but I don't see how 10% can cause the downfall of our schools, culture and everything they touch? our government doesn't do too much for the people (compared to other govts) as far as I know. We don't have universal healthcare, if I were poor, I'd be trying to move somewhere with healthcare and better retirement programs. I hate to say it but i think education should all go private. This may deter people from having more children than they can support. I pay for private healthcare but everyone's kids go to school for free? It makes no sense to me. Pay for school, this is capitalism, quit giving handouts.
