OHHH just a little drunk update,............MY creations have risen!!!!, FUCK YEAH!!!!, to help with the oxygen problem i cut my air tube so theirs no twist or turns in the tube so air goes str8 thu an i took that piece of tube i cut and stuck it in my res thru the lid so it looks like a submarine.

I don't know why tho, I saw it in someones micro grow on grasscity an i thought it would help get oxygen to the roots, i guess i assumed correctly, but let see how long this is gonna last

  • 2x42w 6500k & 2x23w 5000k CFL's for right now in veg

Their drooping horribly, I've been stuck on Google, reading everything i can about deficiency's an my plants don't seem to fall in any of those categories, I've tried to fix this last week, i just changed the res and it seemed to be picking up, then it just stared to droop again i don't know what the fuck to do, or what the fuck to type into google, This shit is starting to piss me off can some one please help me ?

I'm not even sure its bagseed, but now i check up on them an they are back to drooping, i don't know why tho, i didn't touch or change anything since i saw them up earlier, the only thing i can think of is the water level being to low, can some one else confirm this??, man this issues is frustrating me, just when i seem to fix it, it goes back to the way it was....UGHH Fuck!!

don't know what to do so i just foliar feed , right after it went into its dark period, with some water and a lil bit hydrogen peroxied to see if that helps, this is my first time foliar feeding so ill check them after the 6hours and see whats good

They don't look starving to me, the problem I'm having now is that the PH climbs up little by little i seem to got the oyxgen part right, now i just gotta keep an eye on the PH, its kinda of hard without a meter but if i keep the ph below 6 the leafs seem to start to droop,

Could this be the water I am using or is it natural for the roots to raise the PH in the RES??

I feel your frustration and will say that when growing Hydro it is critical to maintain a proper pH , the initial pH rise you see is due to mineral content within your water and it is buffering the acidity hence raising the initial pH. Chances are you are then dropping it too low and locking them out repetitively .

With this said your pH looks to be out of range and those stupid shaker test kits can be a nightmare . Do get a cheap meter and you ll soon see how off the test kits really are .

Yeah I really need one asap, I'm not sure if any stores around me sell them so when i do get the money i'll have to wait a few more days to cop one off ebay, SO i hope my babies can tuff it out for a few more days, i might change the res on Saturday like i have been doing for the last few weeks,

So does the PH have effect on the oxygen getting to my roots, causing my plants to look underwater??

ohh and Thank you for replying, This is my first ever grow, and i'm just learning, so next time i can identify this quick and fix it, I've learned alot already and i seem to be doing something right cause these things are getting fucking huge I might have to cut some more leaves off just to see what her sex is, But thank you for your help

i tie a fishing weight to the end of the tube just to keep it on the bottom. try that, and give it a few days then check if they dont improve

otherwise, you may need micronutrients, also a very important factor is the water temp is a setup like that, if the water stays warm the roots dont move the juice as effectively.

further, contemplate the CO2 needs of the plants. if they dont get CO2 air from outside the closet the plants just wont grow. adding a small yeast farm can help with that:


a large glass or ceramic bowl
2 packets active dry yeast (the type you use to make bread)
2 tablespoons of sugar
1 cup warm (NOT HOT) water

put the water in the bowl, stir in the sugar, stir in the yeast, put it in a corner of your cabinet

every few days add more warm water with a table spoon of sugar, and scrape off the top of the bloom to bake bread.

Would this work in a water bottle with the lid cut off and kinda of squeezed against the res? i have i would say 3incs of space between the res and the cabinet wall

Your plants aren't getting enough water. If you are growing in DWC you should drop your netpots into the water about 2 inches and also try keeping your ph @ 6.0 if you can. As long as your water is properly oxygenated then you wont run into anaerobic microbe issues. To mix up you nutes fill up you water then mix in your nutes and let it set for 10 minutes, then adjust your ph.

FUCKING IDIOT, I also didn't take in account that both the coco coir & rockwool ,where dry as fuck, so i could see the that being a contributing factor to the the roots not getting enough oxygen, fuck why didn't i think of that in the first place..... but i just top feed them with some water i had left over at 5 ph i guess, and i mist the net pot with the same water in a water bottle, so hopefully this will help, i have seen them start to lift little by little, but i hope all this ph up&down I'm using doesn't effect the plant to much, i've been trying to keep it in the 5 range!

With hydro first thing to always check is PH @5.8.
Your roots look good except they have not had enough water see those cord roots?That's what causes them,low water.
The water should cover the roots up to the stalk.
I had a come & go thing happening along with a odor(that I could not find).
Cleaned everything started using aquashield and so far so good no more ordor.
I can not over water in DWC so when it looks like I have something is wrong with my air(oxygen).

well ever since i lowerd the water, thats when they started lifting up, But like BUDS said, i think now it might be the pump, the pump is kinda small, but i figured since the res was small it wouldn't matter.

But i also notice keeping it at a ph in the 5 range has kept them from drooping really bad

so now i have a PH fluctuating problem and what seems like an o2 Problem.

So in order to fix this problem, getting a new pump would be a good idea? The one i have is just real small black box and it came with the box

raise your water level till it's just a 1/4 in (8 mm) from the bottom of the net pots. dont let em touch the water.

the bubbles will splash water onto the pots and keep em moist, provided your bubbles are vigorous enough.

no, it MUST be a 20 oz soda bottle from Dads Root Beer, with the label intact, and the cap suspended from the neck of the bottle on a thread spun from spider's silk, and a single dried amaranthus leaf slipped betweeen the bottle and the label, or the magic wont work.

also, you need to sacrifice a white goat to Yomang Thoua under a full moon while seven virgins dance naked in a counterclockwise ring around your altar. .

ohh and just now i took my airstone out, as recommended earlier in this thread to see if that will Help the oxygen issues, waiting to see if their is any result from this

I'm gonna agree with the lack of oxygen as the issue...when roots are submerged in water, you'll need sufficient aeration. The pump can be larger than the required size but not less.
