What symptoms would an underfeed plant show?

Yellow leafs i assume but would the yellowing start from the bottom or top? Im sure there are many more signs. Could someone help.

the bottom because new growth takes from old growth

are spots common as well with underfeeding?

ive read from a couple places that underfeeding and overfeeding share some of the same symptoms. could anyone concur this?

I concur. Sometimes over and under feeding show similar results. You have to look for others signs of whats going on. The plant will talk to you (in its own way) after you get experienced enough.
