What strains are new in 2009-2012?

With all the breeding to make more and more potent buds, I was wondering what the current strains are that have the highest potency and greatest effect. I know a lot of the strains from other people like og kush, maui waui, and most of the "old school" strains, but I really want to step up to the table and bring in a bunch of new strains that i've never had before. I saw a couple like heavy duity fruity, but with all websites I feel that there are biases and they never really tell you the effects of the bud. So I came here looking for unbiased opinions on what could be placed in the upper half of strong strains, could you guys help me out?

what is it your actually looking for? there isnt any 1 greatest strain cause everyone has different opinions. what flavors you want to be looking for in your search? what type of high, or at the very list, indica or sativa dominant? give us more info.

Well, I don't really care about it being indica or sativa dominant as I enjoy both and would like to grow both. (I really enjoy any kind of pot as long as the effects are noticable) From the stupid funny high that you watch movies to, to the ones that make you want to lay down and take a nap because after hitting the bud you felt like you just ran a mile. You know like that. If you don't know of any newer strains, post your top 3 favorite to smoke maybe. I'm really just looking for suggestions

would you rather grow feminized plants or do you have the patience for regular seeds (meaning you'll have to cull males).

For example, I went to a dispensiary around here and picked up mr nice. I smoked some and I never got high. It was really sad that I spent the money on it. And I honestly don't want to waste 4 months+ growing time to end up with something like that and be very disappointed for not insisting you to post your top 3 choices.

regular plants would be the best. If I get a male, i'll toss it outside with a female so they can have happy fun times and I can get some seeds to try out.

You say the list goes on and on, but when looking at seed websites, you see high content, medium content, and low thc content as well. So is there really no top tier of bud out there? Just a crappy grower grew the strain prior to it being tested resulting in it being low thc percentage on the website? Correct me if I am wrong but isn't there a "top tier" of strains?

theirs a lot of great strains out their. you can't realy on thc% cause most of them are bullshit. you can get one of the best strains out their and if you don't know how to grow it won't be that good.
jack herer. sensi strar, ak-47, black widow, super silver haze, ect. the list goes on it really depends what you wan't quick finish, high yield, indica, sativa, taste, potency, etc. you can get good weed from most breeders I've gotten some damn good smoke from nirvana and their far from top notch.
