Indica plants are short, bushy, mature early, have more chlorophyll and less accessory pigments (accessory pigments protect the plant from excessive sunlight).
As Indica strains have more chlorophyll than sativa they grow and mature faster.

Sativa plants are taller, take longer to mature, have less chlorophyll and more accessory pigments (accessory pigments protect the plant from excessive sunlight).
As Sativa strains have less chlorophyll than Indica they take longer to grow, mature, and require more light.

Hybrid plants have a combination of both Indica and Sativa growth characteristics which are relative to strain ratio.

If you want advice on which strain or hybrid to grow, you must include enough information:
  • Are you growing indoors or outdoors?
  • What climate zone do you live in?
  • Sativa or indica?
  • Soil or hydro?
  • Do you prefer an up high or a couch stone?
  • Are your priorities yield and finishing time or quality and aroma?

This should be current:

Marijuana seeds are still illegal in many parts of the world, including the United States. Please check local laws before ordering and always use a safe address. Never order the marijuana seeds directly to your grow.

CLICK HERE for the list of marijuana seeds retailers

All of the Overgrow Sponsors have proven to be safe vendors of high quality seeds from the highest quality breeders. Marijuana seeds are a live product and will never be the same from batch to batch so order at your own risk!

It is no longer updated, but for archives of ratings of Cannabis / marijuana seed retailers and advice on ordering, see: Seedbank Update

Ok i want to grow indoors and the climate is england so its not exactly warm.
i plan to have both reasonably fast flowering but i want a decent aroma.
im thinking more indica then sativa and i want to grow in soil.
I've been told that white widow or nothern lights would be good to start with and they are quite easy to grow, is this true?

Definatly pick an indica to grow in doors. Its shorter faster and better highs then the sativas. Also easier to grow and more forgiving. If you want big buds fast with maybe a sog do an Ak-47 or Ak-48 to start also. They are good learning high yield strains.good luck on it

Filthy is correct indica would be the best choice for starters. I

ndica plants have a heavy, stony high that is relaxing and can help different medical problems.

Sativa plants have an energetic, cerebral high which can stimulate brain activity.

Hybrid strains have a combination of both Indica and Sativa highs which are relative to strain ratio.

So when you smoke how do you want to feel?

i would suggest you to go for Skunk#1, Northern Light#1, Big Bud or Master Kush. all strains easy to grow, sativa/indica mixes with majority of it gens on the indica side. so the the grow rather medium tall, normally reasons well to topping and binding them down and are great smokes too.

personally i'm a fan of big bud for years, was the first strain i bought and never made me much trouble. Skunk#1 is even easier to grow but has quiet some stink to it;) so it is hard to hid but hell of a nice strain to grow:D

Well i dont know, i mean i dont want to be buzzing or anything, but like when you got some good skunk or something and you laugh all the time, something like that. I dont want something that people will be able to smell while growing, i have a slight iea at what you guys are now getting at but whats a good price for seeds, i am a newb and dont really want to buy expensive seeds until i know what im doing and got a good crop, any reliable sites?

okay, since you are sittin in the uk if im not totally of now, go for Nirvana from Amsterdam, my favorite seed bank lately;)
Cannabis seeds straight from the breeder/seedbank NIRVANA - High Quality Hemp Seed - Indica Sativa Feminized Marijuana seeds.
the seeds at this bank range from 10 to about 20 pounds UK i guess, well the normal ones, feminist are not that cheap and a waste of money anyway if you ask me.
that bank is fast, good service, well priced, fair selection on common strains and the seeds are first class stuff, 90% pop and 50/50 to 40/60 ratio in favor of the females:hump:
