what soil is similar to FFOF?

Is there anything generic (living soil) that can mix well with fox farms ocean forest?

I need to do a transplant today and i can’t order anything online so i have to get something generic.

Not sure about mixing with FF but ProMix makes an organic herb and veg soil and its worked well for me. Its largely peat (65% or so) and some compost, good amount of perlite and readily available. Long term you'd want to amend the crud out of it, but in a pinch maybe.

You can “ cut “ Fox Farms ocean forest with most mild potting mixes like happy farm / eb stone / dr earth / receipe 420.

i play around with layered mixes and find you can temper it easily. A simple method is use Fox Farm Ocean at bottom 1/3 of container ( like a super soil ) and top rest of container with a milder mix. This way emerging plants and roots are not overwhelmed in fox farm’s nute dense mix ( some strains get early burns ) .

However - Any plant in ocean forest will acclimate to it as long as you add nothing to it - just water as needed. This where most goof up / they see a slight burn and assume Fox Farm needs more stuff. Just let plant find its way. For example- its like slipping into a hot tub / first it becomes too much but over time you get accustomed.
