What size pots should i get?

I heard somewhere that plants need a gallon for every foot of plant height. so a 2 ft plant would need at least a 2 gallon pot. is this correct? Im looking to grow my plants to 2 feet then switching to flower. I figure they could get to be 5 ft tall.

Basically I'm wondering how big a pot i should get for a plant up to 5 ft?

Happy Harvests....

consider potting up as you go. I wouldn't go from seedling to a 5 gal pot right away.

That's cool. Some of the other guys may tell you that you need bigger pot but I think it's over kill.

no need that would be a waste of soil, no matter what someone else says. Also would be a waste of space if you want more plants :). 4 footers should yield you well with good training on your lady/ladies :D

im growing from seed bags. i only know one of the strains is mango kush.

I have 1 gallon pots im upgrading to soon. Then at 1 ft switching to the 5 gallons. so exciting their just starting to really grow fat.
thanks for the advice guys

5 gallon should be fine but make sure that you water correct water and let dry repeat this so the plant will not become premature root bound and all should be good..............................tyke............................................................................................................

I've grown some huge plants in 2 gallon (or less) pots. If you are growing indoors, 5 gallon pots just aren't practical for many people. I've even grown some real nice plants in 1 gallon pots. If I ever did 5 gallon pots, you can be guaranteed I would put more than one plant per pot. I think the sweet spot for indoor growers with limited space is 2 gallon pots. All this being said, bigger pots are easier to grow because there is way less sensitivity to over or underwatering.
