What size pots for a monster?

I live in Southern California and am growing outdoors. I have one of each, GDP, Super Silver Haze, Blue Dream, LA Con, and 2 unknown bagseeds. With all the sun we get here, I'm hoping to grow some monster plants. What size pots would I need to use to let my plants grow to their full potential?

Some where I have heard 1 gallon per foot of plant height. Some plants grow 13'+ givin the chance too. Reaserch the height of your plants and pot accordingly.

Yea, I think I remember hearing something like that come to think of it. I'll see how they do in the first month or two and transplant accordingly after that... assuming they're not too large.

5 gallon buckets work well. Also you could cut the bottom of the pots and plant straight into the ground letting the roots get as big as they need to. Or you could just plant in the ground from the start.

When should you transplant from seed? could you just put a week old seedling in a huge pot and get the best results? i ask because i read transplanting from a month old gives the plant a better root system.

You can start the seed in the same pot. I have also heard the root system thing, but I have never had any problems leaving them in the same pot from seedling - flower. I usually start mine in a party cup for 5-6 weeks only because they are easier to move out to the forest than big buckets.

I like to do it from 1 gal to 3 to 5 to 20 lol I grow indoors though but it tightens the root ball up more roots more bud :weed:

If you really want to grow in a container, i would go with at least 10 gallon grow bags, but the plant will get bigger, and require less watering if you just plant her straight into the soil. happy growing :)

If everythings secure for that type of grow, trash cans, those rubbermaid boxes, raised beds would be nice.

yea originally i would worry about putting them in the ground in case i would have to move them for security reasons. but of course, how easy is it to hide a 6 foot plant? lol. ground sounds like a good idea. i just need to look into covering up my lattice fence. neighbors on both sides hate me, but they can suck it cause i have a medi card ;]

nice, i'm trying to get my card, almost there bongsmilie ground would be good, like i said. also, as said by others, you could do raised beds and get very good results. be very careful about security, even though you have your card, that won't stop stupid fuckers from stealing your stuff.:cuss:
