What Size Net Pots Do You Use?

Just as the title says, what size net pots do you use? I see a lot of people using rather big net pots in DWC, and I don't get it. Is there any reason to use 6"+ net pots in DWC? Bigger pots just means more hydroton, the plants get their nutrients from the water anyway. I was planning on using 4" net pots. Am I missing something, are 4" too small for large robust plants even in a DWC or am I on the right track here?

I honestly think its just because of the bucket lids that are available and fit so well. I use a swc type system that the plant is in a 2" net cup, even the biggest heaviest plant i have ever grown has never had a stalk that was bigger than 2".
