What should I do from now to gain the best yield?

Hi people,

Just wanted some advice on what I should do from this point onwards in order to achieve the best yield possible. the plants are just over 3 weeks old and have recently been transplanted into their final containers. I am growing in coco with a mix of perlite and are feeding them on a daily basis with about 3L of water each. As you can see one of my plants has some scaring from burns when I first transplanted and left it too close under the light for the first 4 hours, it doesn't seem to have done too much damage but I have a couple leaves near the bottom of the plant that are completely crinkled and touching the growing medium. Should I just tear those off including the stems at the base of the stalk or leave them be? Also I have been bending the stems a little each day to release growth hormones and make the plant hopefully grow faster but have not started LST'ing yet as I also want the plants to be fairly tall vertically as well as stretching out horizontally. So should I LST now? or wait until the plants gain more vertical height first and LST them afterwards? I'm trying to get these to fill my entire grow room and grow to as much space as I possibly have and gain the biggest buds that I can. I'm also not sure if I should top yet or wait until later in the growth cycle because I do not want to stunt the plants growth to such a small stature. Any help would be appreciated and If you see any problems, please do not hesitate to point them out. Its all a learning experience :P There is also an autoflower strain I am growing but that is not what you see here and she is still in the seedling stage. kept it about 3 weeks behind on purpose so I could gain big vegetative growth with these here. any advice would be great. Thanks

You may be watering too much.

And start LST now, also if they arent autos i would top soon.

If this is your first grow I would personally advise to do as little as possible. Keep it simple this go-around....see how a plant grows naturally before trying advanced grow techniques. There's much to learn when watching a plant grow on it's own. Be light on the nutrients, be light on the watering until it's about ready to go into 12/12.

If you want your plants to endure all the beginner mistakes we've all made....let the plant teach you and it'll turn out just fine.

As lilroach said , sometimes in your first grow its better to keep it simple , but going for a scrog i think it will be fairly simple and you will be able to manage it , most common mistake in first grow , normaly goes on the feeding parts , its that part that you want to keep simple , dont over feed them.
that beeing said , i suggest you top them , lest say next week , and then when theyr ready again , top them again , leaving you with a bunch of "main colas" , 1 week before going to 12/12 Install a SCROG net over them , about 1 inch over the canopy , switch to 12/12 and when they start strecthing start to split them nicely , the higher colas goes for the sides holes . let the center of the scrog net be free for the mid-lower colas to rise to the light , they will quickly come for it if they get enought light. Try to make an even canopy every bud at the same level so you can manage your light effiency better.
After 2 weeks since the Switch , cut every bud site on the lower part of your plant , dont cut the Fan leaves , just the bud sites. this will make your plant focus all her energy in the top colas.
It may seem like a big deal but it isn't , and this is probably the best way to get the maxium yield.

Good Luck , and keep up the good work.

cheers for everything guys. guess i'll just see how it goes as the days go on. the biggest one of the bunch has bushed out on its own a bit more now naturally anyways. does it matter that the stalks are too close to the growing medium? I mean there is basically growth like 2 cm upward from the growing medium, i fear these won't get enough light when it comes to the 12/12 cycle. or maybe its just because of the strain, the trainwreck has a good length of stalk before its first leaves

basically any bud site on the lower side of your plants will not get enought light unless you put lighting from the downside of your plant , worry more about your canopy that is where your yield will be .. not the lower parts..
