What plays a bigger role in triggering the plant to switch to flower; Nutes or Lights

I report in my journal that I'm on week 6 of the flower cycle, but think I may be doing so incorrectly. I flipped to 12/12, but waited another 5 days to change to flower nutes. (too busy) Does this mean that I'm actually on week 5 instead of week 6? What causes the plant to switch over more; nutes or lighting? I could also use a no BS assessment of my girls. :P

It takes a week or two to go from veg to flower, I count when pistils and bud start to form as the start week. As for what makes the plant change, it's the lighting.

Edit: If your using dates for a new grow and trying to figure harvest time based on breeders times, stop now. It's good to journal a first grow if your going to be taking clones and growing it out as this will give yu a rough timeline and future growing of said plant. If your popping seeds with every. We grow, again, forget timelines Nd go by what the plant says for ripeness.

As desr said, you'll be fine. I myself give them a week or 2 on veg nutes after flipping the light to make sure I won't have to much yellowing from to low nitrogen.

For normal photoperiodic plants yeah it is definitely light. However, too much nitrogen may delay flowering. And if there isn't enough P (available), or any other nutrient is limited, you can expect bloom\over all growth to be delayed.

Is this what you mean? If so, it is 6 days after flipping the lights and the actual day I changed over to flower nutes.

healthy fan leaves determine flowering time along with a shorter lite cycle. i have used many types of nutes over the years and i have noticed that it doesnt matter what nutes you use. i have used high P stuff. low nitrogen stuff. every combo of npk imaginable. knowing that you start the flower cycle with healthy fan leaves serves me best. i wont even consider flowering until i have a nice set of fan leaves to soak up the lite. i usualy get hairs in about a week. there is no majic bottle that induces flowering better then a nice set of fan leaves. if there not healthy dont start flowering....
