Ah yeah, they do make a carb compliant hawk I'm sure..

I got my son a lil SSR 70 auto last year. Nice little pit bikes, hauls me around no problem! We got our own track going all around the property...

That's why I had to get me a new toy too, and the chawk fit the bill ;)

I wanna say there is a new china bike that has the full 250cc and 6 speed, for roughly the same price or a little more, but can't remember which kind it was. Or if legal in Cali..

Please show me a link for a carb compliant Hawk. If there is one, it's new, because trust me, I looked.

Got me, I must have been thinking of the TT250 or SSRs you mentioned.. I remember seeing the carb compliant models when shopping around, and making sure i didn't get one on accident (what do they do, de tune the carbs or add more emmisions devices or something?). There's a few other brands too, like the brozz recon..

At 6'4" I think finding a bike that is comfortable and isn't overpowered for a begining rider might be a difficult task.

I would look at a used Triumph Bonneville. It has enough power to get you around town and light highway duty but won't throw you off the back if you twist the throttle too hard. It's light enough that you can pick it up yourself if you lay it down and it has a classic look to it.

Wear a helmet and I highly recommend other protective gear especially at first.

Keep the shiny side up and the rubber side down.

If i was 6'4 id ride an adventure bike. Someone mentioned that in a different thread is kinda the only thing that will truely be big enough for a tall guy. Yeah maybe a big cruiser too. Those adv bike r huge. Or a road legal dirtbike. Pretty sure yamaha got a 700 cc tenure think its called. Still wpuldnt caLl that a beginer bike tho.

This was always my favorite bike, Yamaha R6.. never saw the streets at all. I bought it new from the Dealership, stripped it down to the bone, replaced all the bodywork, exhaust, removed mirrors, brake lights, turn signals,... bare naked. I raced this thing for a few years with the CMRA in the SW division of Endurance racing. I had a couple of more teams with different bikes in different divisions for 10 years, but this one was my fave... If you got on the podium that weekend, Michelin would pay for your tires for the weekend (which is about how long they lasted)... great memories, and not a single trip by helicopter, except for 2 of my team members. Most of my dozen or so fractures or broken bones were dirt bike training for road race. Im too old now. .but it was fun. Pic, circa 2003 at Texas World Speedway, turn 5. Won 1st place in a 12 hour Endurance Race once. The rain was coming in at hour 9, and I told my team to "keep it shinny side up" nice and slow and the other teams were switching to rain tires (times consuming)..... we won.

Those 4 cyl jap bikes are no joke. Big balls.
I ride a 2021 z900rs, 2019 road glide special with a built 128. And a 2020 yz250 2 stroke

The kawi for brute force ripping, the road glide for cruising, and the yz to straight tear shit up.
