What metals can you smoke from???

I make a lot of 316 Stainless steel pipes but never worry about it. I made a really cool brass pipe and would love to smoke from it but I'm worried to. Any help would be great thanks folks.

i can tell you to not smoke out of foil.. i helped.

LOL Thanks I got that one. I am quite sure Copper is out of the question and aluminum is obvious. I see alot of mild steel/cromed ect... I know glass is best but I cant blow glass.... YET

i think steel is best. isnt that what the metal bowls / stems from Head shops are made from?

Brass and Copper... No.

I forget which one it is, it might be both that give you lock jaw

Yeah I know Copper is a big NO NO but cannot source anything on brass.

I assume it must be okay. Many online stores sell them.... but then again they sell aluminum pipes too.

I thought most metal pipes were made out of steel plated Nickel which is actually Semi-toxic metal. in fact a lot of metal things these days are made with a nickel substitute.

100% Pure stainless steel anything is actually quite expensive, I suppose, at any rate it's a total drag for people with a Nickel allergy, like myself.

brass and copper are out, brass is part copper, so...

stainless and galvanized steel are also out

who said aluminum was bad for you? thats what metal hammer bowls are made of, and thousands of people smoke those

just invest $10 in a piece of glass and stop messing around withe metal pipes

Yeah I hear ya, I work in a big machine shop and all we use is S/S so I have lots to chose from. I found a nice piece of brass and made a dope pipe. I used it a few imes but I'm a little unsure. There is no extra taste or anything. I dont trust cheap metal pipes from head shops unless they r S/S. Then there so expensive. I probably have 100lbs of S/S pipes and ashtrays I built. LOL
