This is my first grow in about 8 years. In the past I have always used ebb and flow with Rockwool and hydoton in mesh bottom pots.
So I have a grow box about 3 1/2 feet high 6'deep and 3' wide.using fluorescent light.I've decided to try using soil or some type of soilless mix. What do u guys think would be best I'm leaning toward Fox farm ocean forest or sunshine mix 4.In the past I always used by flora bro bloom micro. Will this be good for soil and should i stick to the Same ratios I used in my ebb and flow system. Any advice would be greatly appreciated will post pics soon

Roots Organic original is what I recommend. Or, you can mix FFOF with a LOT of chunky perlite to open it up and lighten it so it drains better. FFHF and FFOF are very rich and heavy soils by themselves, in my opinion.

I run= 7-1 perlite to vermiculite ratio in 5gal buckets or similar (maybe 2gal for your space. With a hole drilled 2in from the actual bottom of the container. I use grow rocks to fill up the first 2in known as the "res" then the perlite vermiculite mix. works great super simple in my opinion its the best simple route before getting into DWC, hydro, aero ect. The key to this style is to transplant your clones or starters with long enough roots to reach the "res" right from the start or they will be slow until reaching the res.
