After the liberal magazine Mother Jones posted a copy of a FreedomWorks document about its fundraising, Armey reached out to Media Matters to explain how the group wastes money by trying to raise money through radio hosts Beck and Rush Limbaugh. Armey said FreedomWorks paid Beck $1 million to say nice things about the group to raise more cash, but Beck's appeals raised considerably less than that. "The arrangement was simply FreedomWorks paid Glenn Beck money and Glenn Beck said nice things about FreedomWorks on the air," Armey said, adding that, initially, Beck's kind words were only supposed to cost $250,000 a year. "Once that was approved by the trustees, it then took on a life of its own, it got bigger than we understood it to be. All of a sudden it was we are paying Limbaugh as well as Beck." The price of Beck's nice words then went up to $1 million a year, Army said. He explained how it was a bad investment:

No we arent talking about paid advertisements

We are talking about. I will say nice things about you and your movement for $$$$$
Bullshit. ANYONE who listens to Beck's radio show knows that Freedom Works is an official sponsor of his show and pays for official advertisements. Many of Beck's commercials for paid advertisers are done live with very little scripting. Scumbag detractors that don't really listen to the show, might get confused by the format, but it is clear to anyone else that it is a commercial. He was also singing their praises long before he was getting paid because he believes in their agenda.

To the TeaParty, as if there even is a single entity (horseshit), he has been with the "movement" since day one. He has ALWAYS spoken highly of them and has participated in multiple gatherings.

It isn't unusual for people to spend their advertising dollars on radio shows that already support their product/agenda.

Beck is a genius. Agree or disagree with him politically, you have to admire his business savvy. He doesn't compromise his beliefs for anyone or any amount of money. He could drop your lifetime earnings out of his back pocket and he'd lose money stopping to pick it up.

I listen only sporadically, not because I don't agree with his positions 100%, but because I can't tolerate all the constant religious crap.

Probably not...

Are you unfamiliar with this radio format? Almost every station I listen to does the same thing. KFYI out of Phoenix has Barry Young raving about the food that is brought in by sponsors, does live promo's of various other companies on air. Limbaugh does it, Hannity does it, they all do it. I would be shocked if the same thing wasnt happening on the liberal stations as well.

They all get PAID to do it... That is the point...

Hell, all KFYI is on the weekends is paid advertising. If I hear what a wonder drug prevagin (SP) is again I might puke...

Liberal radio station talk show hosts would do the same thing if they existed, fortunately liberal radio talk shows do not exist.

I wonder if cheeseforbrains knows why liberal radio talk shows don't exist?
