What light do I need for 1 1-3 plants for indoors?

I'd suggest not going below 400w HID. You just do not see the real 'HID benefit', going under 400w.

I also suggest a fluoro veg room and HID flowering room.

Yeah it's me, shhhhh. I would if funds are available suggest same as tea tree. Just putting out there that you can grow on a budget and in time you can alway expand.

Do not trim off any leaves, if they don't get what they need they will die and then pick them off, but do not take off healthy leaves. Learn the fim tech. instead. Or top.

before you add lights, whats your plan of attack? summer is here and personally i try to plan based on ventilation, even in a small space a 400w can get reall hot in there and humid, if heats gonna be a problem and you cant start cutting holes in the walls of your closet, you may want to go floros, but if you can shell out like 200bucks for a 400 watt system with an air cooled hood go for it

I have 4 under a 400w MH that converts to HPS when it is time for flowering, and everything seems to be going great.

whats a good system for $200 with cooling? i'm willing to throw down $200-$250 for a system? if u could help me out it would be greatly appreciated.

i'm not sure. ima go measure out the approximate grow space today. i'm looking for a lighting (250 w hps) and cooling system around $200-$250, any suggestions? i'm new to growing
