What level of gun control do you support?

Background check and licensing (w/ safety course) but no individual "by the gun" registration is what I'd like for here.

Means sane, law abiding people can easily access guns but nut jobs or violent criminals can't (legally).

Amen Brotha. I say the same as Harrekin, with the addition of a mental health eval. Seems like every mass killing lately is by some nut job. Definitely no 'by the gun' registration. That's a backdoor for government to track and, at the point when they wish, take our weapons.

We really do need mental health evals but those are so subjective we should use them as a guideline only, not as a verdict.

France has never diagnosed ADHD while here in America we've labelled millions of kids. That's not possible for everyone to be right.

That's what makes mental health such a difficult and divisive field, it's based on subjective findings and anyone can read those findings in their own way. There would be no consistency. Of course, our government would try a one-sized fits all program, but it won't fit all, we are lucky when it fits most.

Yes, many mass killings are the work of nut jobs and government thugs, but I repeat myself.

Special permits that are cost prohibitive to any buyer that wants a military type weapon (you want to play games, pay for it) no magazines that hold more than 10 rounds period, and a MANDITORY 3 month waiting period for any gun, with EXTENSIVE background checks, that would be a good start and still respect that curse of the 2nd Amendment. I live in CT, and they gave me a carry permit after 2 stints in a hospital for rehab, multiple arrests for simple possession, one for felony ,possession, and 3 DWI's. How the fuck is that allowed? I couldn't believe it when I got it. Thanks NRA.

the mental health thing can be a little iffy

people who display traits of certain mental health disorders that murder are smart enough to pass a mental health eval
where as people who suffer from something little like , anxiety or lower IQ , can fail it, but would never harm anyone with a gun

and then there of there are people who are just batshit crazy

I think gun control similar to canada is a good decent gun control,

I dont think anyone needs military type assault rifles, theres just no point to them in your home.
I dont see anything wrong with using them in a restricted area such as a firing range

Many people who use/own guns are responsible owners, i have no issue with guns, what i have an issue with is how easy it is to obtain one , or that they are loaded and in unlocked places which are easily stolen.

Im going to choose option

Even more moderate GC; Written test, background check, mental health eval. wait 10 days to pick up

but without the mental health eval.

No guns for vegetarians. They are too pale and weak for proper trigger control.

Not at all, I moved to CT 20 years ago, all arrests were in NY for drugs, 2 DWI in CT, and it was NO PROBLEM to get a gun permit in CT 15 years ago, which automatically is a full carry license in this state. Believe it or not CT had the loosest qualifications for owning a gun in the US, until the Newtown shootings (I live in Newtown believe it or not) changed that shit. Would I get a license now, I doubt it, but I do, and I have guns, mostly to hunt and the rest to play with, so, it is a reality today for gun ownership in the good old USA, meaning anybody can own a dangerous weapon, even me. Nice

I doubt it. 1st of all, I stopped drinking (mostly). 2nd of all, mandatory 1 year in jail and forfeiture of license forever if arrested, not even convicted of DWI again (no pleas) 3rd it was a long time ago, and now I have grown up, (my little boy helped me) So, never say never, but I will in this case
