What LED Magnifier for viewing trichromes?

Needs to be cheap... Needs to be good and close up... needs to be useable for taking photographs through...I've looked through eBay and there's loads of different ones. None of them look awesome enough to take a leap of faith, so I figured, ask the good people of RIU :)8-)

pmsl I'm not from Scotland no, but from UK.

I'm not that bothered about it taking pics, or being USB as I can use my camera with it.
I'm looking more in the £5-£10 range. Just something simple that has LED lighting and give a good clear close up image. I know that they exist but I just don't know the best one's to look for and I certainly don't want anything from the far east - I've had problems with items being shipped from Hong Kong... If I didn't mind the far east thing, there are loads on fleabay for under a fiver.

Last time I bought something from Hong Kong, I waited for over a month for delivery. I got a refund but the thing never turned up anyway! Wasted my time completely lol

Don't have a link at hand but you can find a kids 200x digi scope for around 20 bucks. Places like target and wal mart. Only drawback is it must be hooked to a laptop or pc.

It's only 10x, but it's stand-alone battery powered and should be able to let me see inside my thrichromes :)

10x? I use 60-100x and still want more. Need to fix my laptop then getting the 200x. Even a pair of $5 glasses from walmart can get you 25x. Still not good for trics.

The RadioShack 60-100x Illuminated microscope works pretty good. At $9.95 it doesn't break the bank either. Part# 63-1133. I have never had a problem seeing trichs or the various colors of them with this. It's even pocket size so you can go inspect the goods in the field so to speak. ;)

Okay so maybe I should wait.
My friend just bought one of these ones (yes it turned up okay), so I can borrow it to see if it does what I want it to before buying it.
10x doesn't seem like a hell of a lot, 60-100x sounds better :) But for under a fiver...

For 5 bucks I'll get you a glass of water. That will get you 10x mag. Photos won't work but you can see thru it. Sarcasm aside you will be wasting your money. And won't use it

Yeah I hear ya, after reading these comments.
But there's no harm in trying out for free first. I mean if I can see the thrich clearly enough freehand, then I don't mind if I can't take pics too. Taking pics would be a bonus so I could examine them more thoroughly indoors (my grow is in my shed and it's fooking cold!).
