What kind of strain flowers faster than Indicas?

It's a free seed and I'm very curious.

I vegged for 6 weeks and am on day 14 of flower today.

The two Indicas were vegged for 5 weeks and are on day 14 of 12/12 too, but are slower to form buds together.

Indica, is not a strain. I want to say it is a species. Kingdom, Phyllum, Class, Order, Family, Genus, Species.

If this is the case, then Cannabis Indica and Cannabis Sativa are all in the same genus. However, scientifically, I think all cannabis is classified as cannabis sativa.

To answer your question, indica's are the fastest flowering of the two.

If you will go look up some of TGA Subcool's strains, you will find he has a few good ones that finish around 7 weeks. Give those a try.

Other than that, if you are growing straight indica dominant plants, you are looking at another 6 weeks.

Good luck,

K

I'm not trying to be a dick... I'm just trying to gain you some knowledge. There are 3 different species, if you will, of weed. Indica, Sativa, and Ruderalis or Runderalis (both are acceptable). Indicas are shorter, and bushier. Sativas are taller and lankier. and the ruderalis is ditch weed... Meaning they grow wild on the side of the road... They are really low potency and weak, and usually only good when crossed with another strain. Indicas usually flower in shorter time than sativas, and ruderalis are usually what they use for the autoflowers. So to answer your question it may be a Ruderalis... or an autoflower.

Straight from seed or clone on 12/12, indica wins hands down every time.

Promise.

(Remember how auto's flower when they want? Well, if I start from clone or seed on 12/12, then I will finish up to 3 weeks before the auto.)

Peace,

From Wikipedia:

Cannabis (Cán-na-bis; English pronunciation: /ˈkænəbɪs/) is a genus of flowering plants that includes three putative species, Cannabis sativa,[1] Cannabis indica,[1] and Cannabis ruderalis. These three taxa are indigenous to Central Asia, and South Asia. [2] Cannabis has long been used for fibre (hemp), for seed and seed oils, for medicinal purposes, and as a recreational drug. Industrial hemp products are made from Cannabis plants selected to produce an abundance of fiber
Strains or breeds are divisions within a species.

Ruderalis is generaly faster than indicas which are in turn faster than sativas. There are now a lot of strains that have been crossed with Ruderalis - these are called autoflowers. They dont need 12/12 to flower and they are generaly faster than indicas. Some are 60 days from seed to harvest! Of course the flowering times quoted in the blurb next to the strain is usually optimistic. I am finishing some Greenomatic autos which will take 8 weeks from seed though they could have been cut at 6 weeks

Actually Sativas are a lot better for 12/12 from seed than indicas, for size anyway, some people have problems with Indica dom strains growing a hole 6 inches tall.

Thanks for all the replies.

I have two known strains flowering, they are Big Black Indicas. I have two 'free' seed (unknown strains) flowering.

One of my 'free' seeds is flowering really fucking fast. All the plants are on day 15 from the 12/12 switch and I already see an orange hair on one of the buds. I did some research yesterday on really fast flowering indicas and I looked at the seedbanks list of seeds to find what the free one could possibly be.

The fast flowering Indica on there I found was Skunk Red Haze.

I'll post a picture in a few minutes, she is a real beaut. I vegged them longer this grow so they're really big
