There's alot of choices when it comes to soils. I know that foxfarm is the best you can get but some people use different ones and swear by them. Starting an outdoor grow in a couple weeks and I'm going to plant them in cups then transplant into the ground. What soils have you tried and recommend? And how many bags per plant? I appreciate and will rep any helpful replies.
if your going to grow outdoors i
would'nt sugest a soilless mix such as pro mix or sunshine. i would sugest a good organic potting soil with small dose of time released ferts.
i grow commercially indoor and outdoor.
yes for indoor i use promix and add water soluble ferts as i maintain them on a daily basis.
however i wouldnt sugest this outdoors because the purpose of growing outdoors is to let nature nurture you plants. This being said i would go with a simple soil mix simular to this:
Good organic potting soil
1 part perlite
1 part worm casting.
something close to this works real well for outdoor.
and when doing this i always dig a whole about a foot to 2 foot deep and fill the whole with a mix such as the one above. once the roots grow through this the plant is normally mature enough to take care of itself using earths natural soil..
so this is something i would recommend and again there are many variables. good luck and happy growing
