what is wrong with this Blueberry?

Bottom leaves are yellow, the stem is purple and the plant is stunted. The leaves are not dried up though. Sorry my phone sucks at taking pictures.

It has been two weeks since I started from seed, PH is at 6.0, water temps are between 62-66 degrees farenheit and the ppm is roughly 200.

you have provided no information which is at all helpful. even the photo is useless beyond the colors of the amorphous blurry shape in the out of focus foreground of that otherwise excellent shot of your perfectly in focus hydroton pellets.

type of setup:
name of nutrient solution used:
volume of water in reservoir:
volume of nutrient solution used:
actual PH of water before adding nutrients:
actual PH of water after adding nutrients:
other shit in the reservoir:
type and wattage of lights
temp range in seedling's vicinity:

if that plant were in dirt, under ordinary sunlight i would say it wasnt being watered, or it was being poisoned by massive over-fertilization.

It's dead is probably the biggest issue. Looks fried from nutes to me. It didn't need nutrients for probably 2 weeks or so. I normally hand water for like 2 weeks, and then when they are quite a bit bigger than that transfer to an actual hydro setup. Wait until they look a little hungry. They usually are on their 2nd nodes by then. I would be real surprised if that thing lives.

I am not using any nutes. The water was at 150ppm to start with. I let the water level drop on its own and it eventually rose to 200 ppm. It is a simple DWC set up I have used for 3 grows already.

The temp is at 79 degrees with thermometer next to the plant. Using a Black Star LED 240watt.

Used the GH flora series for every pass grow and don't add nutes till roughly 3rd week.

If you read my original post my ppm is currently at 200. That would not burn the leaves.

Trust me I know what a burned leaf looks like. The leaves are not dry at all.

Are you using tap water, distilled, RO?

Looks like it could be poisoned from water contaminates. I used distilled with a dripper setup on my first try at hydro and it was almost a complete failure. I managed to save 3 out of 12 seedlings and the rest looked pretty much just like the one in your pic right before they went into file 13.

Peace

I have used the same tap water from my bath tub for every grow so far. My tap water ppm is always around 150-160. the ph is usually around 8.0 but I always adjust to 6.0.

I have grown sensi seeds skunk #1, Nirvana seeds Ice and g13 labs purple haze in the past with this same set up with no problems. The current are DJ Short Blueberry.

I am using new clay pebbles for this current grow. Is it possible my pebbles are bad? I did give them a quick rinse before using them, maybe it was not enough?

i DID read your original post, andf you declared "200 PPM" but we still dont know what is in the 200 PPM of non-water chemicals.

some municipal water supplies come out of the tap at 300+ PPM and if that 300+ PPM is agricultural runoff like say... ROUNDUP....

you also may have some disease (bacterial or fungal) which slipped past your sanitation procedures.

since your image is just a yellowish blur and sharply in-focus hydroton, no-one could even guess at the problem.

shit it could just be a diseased seed that was gonna drop dead even if you planted it between the welcoming bosoms of Bob Marley's mother and watered it with the tears of Hailie Sellassie.

sometimes dope plants just die brother, and we have to grieve, sanitize, replant and carry on.

your dope would have wanted you to find some other ganja to make you happy.

She's getting high with the angels now bro.

Did you put that directly into the hydroton? If you did, that's probably your problem, I use a small rockwool cube for moisture retention.

I have two plants in this same bucket. Only one of them has the yellow bottom leaves.

I have had a very badly burned plant in the past. Looked worst then this plant, almost no leaves at all, it still survived. I will just keep watch over it.

Here is some advice. Start a grow thread and then spam a *few* vets around here, and then do EXACTLY what they say to do. Let them grow your weed and just follow along, or just grow burnt ass dehydrated whatever the fuck you got going on weed like you are an expert on...

Hey, don't lash out at me you fucking prick. You didn't give any advice whatever. You just said the plant is dead and assumed I over fed it with nutes when I didn't even use nutes.

All I said was I wanted to try to save the plant. I never ditch a plant without trying to save it. All I asked was for advice on what might be the issue, obviously I am experimenting with different methods to try to fix the problem. If I just acted like you, ditched every plant the moment I saw a problem, then I would never be able to learn and grow from my experiences. You want some advice? Don't talk out your ass.

2 weeks is too long to not give nutes in hydro. I run seedlings at 100-150ppm of nutes. thats why your leaves are yellow and dying... no N in that tap water or clay pellets. Not enough juice in those 2 little cotyledons to support a 2 week veg. No nutes for 2 weeks is soil advice.

Thanks to all who tried to help. I think I figured out a certain issue. Since it is winter and the air is cooler I noticed my water temps were dropping into the low 50's overnight. That probably explains the purpling of the stem and the upper leaves including the stunting. I turned off my cooler and the temp stays steady now i the high 60's. A few days have gone by and I noticed the plant is now showing the first signs of a new leaf set.

to Malevolence

You said to run 150 ppm of nutes. The problem is my tap water already is at 150-160ppm to start. If I added nutes I will end up with crispy burnt leaves.

I will take your advice anyway, normally the plant would be bigger by now and I normally start nutes around now. I used just a little bit though, raised ppm from 200 to 250.

The plants are now recovered. The drooping leaves are springing back to life and the new leaf sets are growing fast. To the people who told me to give up and start over, go fuck yourselves and get off this forum. We don't need assholes like you putting people down and discouraging them. You can't learn or gain experience if you just ditch every plant because a leaf or two has a problem. This forum is meant to help people, not tell them to keep starting over.

If I listened to you assholes and ditched my plants to start over I would have the same problem over and over again, wasting all my seeds without ever realizing what was truely wrong.

To the people that did try to help, once again I thank you for your inputs. I know diagnosing plant problems is extremely tricky as there are alot of variables at play that contribute to a similar variety of symptoms. That is what his forum is for, for growers all over to share experiences to help guide one another.

Glad your plant recovered, but no one would have guessed you had your water temps in the 50s. You have a rez chiller without a thermostat?
