What is wrong with planting early?

Just as a foreward, this is probably a kind of stupid question. this is my first time growing ever, and i will only be growing 5-10 plants outside from seeds. I am wanting to plant in like late feb/early to mid march, but everywhere i see people saying wait until late april. im wondering, what is the reason for this? it doesnt snow ever where I live (bay area), so thats not an issue. if I plant in february or march will it completely mess up the plants? I'm growing outdoors in soil, and where I am it rains until sometime in march. Is natural rain bad for new sprouted plants? Thank you.

This is a very good question, but my weather is a lot differnt and I was wanting to put some grow outside mid march. I live close to tennisee and the weather isnt that great but it should break by then. Would it be possible if the weather is better to put some plants out and them be fine?

As soon as your climate is out of any night time frost risk, I have to wait untill late may.

You should start them indoors at least and try to sex and clone them and you'll need to plant early enough that they'll catch the summer solsticewith time to bloom.
