Wow, people are mean on here.
Lots of things are important about source water. pH is one of them. That is not a typo, pH stands for potential Hydrogen.
In addition to pH, well and tap water contain substances you cannot see with the eye. When talking about wells and springs, you can have very high levels of calcium in your water.
Do you have stains on your sinks? If you boil water, is there lots of residue on the pots? Those residues are minerals in your water.
It is likely that your water is just plain wrong for plants. Mine is not good until I remove the calcium from it with a reverse osmosis machine.
The best thing you can do is get some bottled water like Dasani or Aquafina and water with that. It would be good to flush the litle pots you have these in with 5 parts water.. If you have it in a red plastic cup, pour 5 cups of water through it.. Water will be everywhere through your drain holes. That is OK. You want to flush the medium of the excess crap that has accumulated in it.
Then you will have very soppy wet plants that need to get some light and grow a while until you water again. It might be a week before they suck up all that water.. Be patient.
