They have 2 year contracts, along with 3, 4, 5, and 6year contracts... so you find it hard to believe that someone doesnt deploy twice in 6 years?? or even 4 for that matter.... and basic doesnt count as part of your contract.... I was in a light unit Schofield Barracks Hawaii... after i was in for about 7 months i had to extend an extra 3 years just so my wife and kids could move with me since Hawaii was considered OCONUS

Yea, its called command sponsorship. I was assuming since you were artillery, ud take the 3 year. So if you did not bring the wife, wouldn't it be a short tour (1 yr)? Than you go on 2 tours? (2yrs) ? Wouldn't it have been better if you didn't bring the family? SO bottom line you DID extend. Did you hate the US then or after the tours. What circumstance caused you to change your mind?

Their are More teachers and firefighters here in CALI that Abuse the System for Pay rather than help.. Trust me, they help.. but their MORE interested in the PAY.
