From what I've read some species can get up to a half inch, which is what this was

Yepper just the one, giant gnarly godzilla looking mother fucker. Never seen any other signs of pests till I got attacked by this thing

Personally I wouldn't be too stressed by something I found in a pile of trim... Any sign of leaf damage on the living plants? And was the trim dry or still wet?

It was dry, no signs of leaf damage or anything

Yeah I wouldn't worry about it then. Thrips (and many other insect pests) suck the juices out of the leaves/stems. Dry trim = no juices to suck = whatever bugs you find in there are unlikely to be of concern, even if you can't positively ID them.
