Personally I wouldn't be too stressed by something I found in a pile of trim... Any sign of leaf damage on the living plants? And was the trim dry or still wet?

Yeah I wouldn't worry about it then. Thrips (and many other insect pests) suck the juices out of the leaves/stems. Dry trim = no juices to suck = whatever bugs you find in there are unlikely to be of concern, even if you can't positively ID them.
