What is the purpose of a fan in the grow room

Hi, as the title says i want to know what the purpose of the fan in the tent is..

i am a first time grower. I have got a 120-120cm tent. And 5 little plant.

At the moment i have got a pc fan in the tent, it runs 4 times a day half an hour. Is this oke? Should i move the fan sometimes? And most important what's its purpose?

What are the temps , what lights do you have?

I have an intake from outside air , an 18 inch pyrotechnic fan facing the corner of my 1.2x1.2x2m tent blowing the air from my intake pipe around, and a maxibright goldstar air cooled hood 600w HID with an outtake.

Dont see plants going mouldy in the rain outside do you? (not normally anyway) , its because of all the airflow. Helps with all sorts , dont want stale air anyway , fresh air being blow around the plants all the time is a great thing.

I run all of my fans 24x7

Still need a clip fan or something when you watch the plants with door closed (if have a tent window) all the plants branches should sway slightly from air movement. If not it becomes a pain once bud get bigger the branches aren’t strong enough to hold them up. Plus anywhere leaves touch water will collect if you don’t have good air flow.

Yeah. I second run fan 24/7. I didn’t. And was getting issues. Now I let it run 24/7. Both my 4 inch exhaust fan and my clip on circular fan.

A fan (or a few fans) in the grow room simulates the wind outdoors, carrying O2 and co2, as well as gives the plant- even from its earliest stages, something to grow against to make it stronger as it grows. Air flow in the grow room is a necessity.

Okee good to know 1 of my plants already fell over.. i was tinking it was because of the fan.. it is real thin..
Maybe you should lower your light some. Sounds like they're stretching. What type of light do you have?
A "big" light can be about 2 feet or so from your seedlings. Something like a CFL would need to be a few inches from the plant
Also, an echo from the crowd, keep your fan running, tho you know already.

Yeah the one that fell over is really stretching. I already lowered the lights.

I am using 2 smaller led panels (got them from a friend they dont got a marking).

The rest is doing fine.. although they are a little small.. i cant get it warm enough in my tent, the outside temps are dropping to 10C° day and 3C° night.. its supposed to get hotter its almost summer xD..

I wil at some pics is the evening when i finish work..

I had a real long weekend here are the pics i promised..

I did put the lights up to take the pictures..

As you can see 1 of my plant is stretching very hard and 2 of them are still real small..

How far away are lights? How much wattage? Led should be 16 - 24 inches from tops, and u should be training them to stay short...
Is the room fairly dark when lights out? If a light is on nearby they will reach for it
I think u need to get lights closer imho.

Fans make for stronger plants with thicker stems and stalks. Constant wind will help prep your plants to be able to support massive buds during bloom. Insufficient wind will cause weak stems that will easily bend under the weight of a bud. If using CO2, the fans also help to make the PPM more even throughout the room.
