Sorry bro, that is NOT a scientific source, it is one opinion. There is no research to support the claim, it is just a claim. Furthermore, what he is suggesting, contradicts what mother nature has been doing since the beginning of time. As I stated. 24/0 for a few days, 18/6 for veg, 12/12 for flower. There is no point in trying to reinvent the wheel. Just keep it simple."Please site your source as I have been growing for many years and have never heard this..."
"Marijuana Horticulture: The Indoor/Outdoor Medical Grower's Bible" by Jorge Cervantes, page 38 - "I used to believe a point of diminishing returns was reached after 18 hours of light, but further research shows that vegetative plants grow faster under 24 hours of light. "
BigSteve.
So, IF I haven't been on here for more than 7 weeks, I don't know how to grow. Nice logic. You give out more inaccurate, bad advice than anybody I have seen on here. I have forgotten more about growing than you clearly think you know. Go to ANY commercial grow ant they will be using the same schedule. You love to re-type other people's words, don't you? Try to come with some experience if you want to talk about growing with me. Clearly, you know what other people have done and written, but lack the actual experience."Sorry bro, that is NOT a scientific source, it is one opinion."
Correct. As is your opinion. Who is the most believable - 2 30-year growers or some poster who has been active here for 7 weeks?
Plant growth is a factor of energy, oxygen, water and nutes. The energy is provided via photosynthesis and the organelles under the fan leaves. Photosynthesis is the act of the plant turning light into a form of energy the plant can use. Light = energy = growth. That, my friend, is what Mother Nature has been doing a lot longer than 7 weeks.
Keeping it simple, BigSteve.
Nice story. I can say ego stroker. Duration on a website does not mean shit. I felt like helping newbs and got signed up because I was bored this cold Winter. If it took you 3 years to get a perpetual down, you must be the shittiest grower of all time. I had mine down in 6 months and that was over a decade ago. I still think you are full of shit. You straight out do not give good advice. Even on basic shit. Procalaim your delusions of grandeur on somebody else's time." but lack the actual experience."
* First joint smoked: 1964. That's right 50 years smoking pot.
* 1969: Grand jury indictment - Sales of LSD, Grand Rapids, Mich.
* 1971: sold to US Fleet in San Diego.
* To Tiajuana, B.C., Mexico to visit 66 acre pot plantation.
* 1973: Ann Arbor: Helped "test" first commercial guerilla manufacture of (street) PCP

* Lost a 38-year old, 50-inch ponytail to chemo.
Can you say "O.G." ?
Got serious about growing indoors 10 years ago when I bought 1000W and a 400W set-ups. Took 3 years to fine-tune my perpetual grow. I clone 80 plants a year and harvest 2 plants a week. It is hard to believe you have been very seriously involved in my hobby and never found RIU until a few weeks ago.
Everyone has their own way of doing things. When something works for me I pass the info to others. People can click on the icon and see I have been here for a while. I hope people check that when judging credibility.
BigSteve.
I absolutely rely on exactly this for my grows now. I'm vegging for up to 8 weeks in a 3x1.5x3' tent now under a 135w LED, and get my plants into 3 gal pots around week four. Tight but STRONG growth is what I get under 24/0.i find 24/0 gives much SLOWER growth than when they have a sleep period. but the growth is better quality with less stretch and more nodes, they go crazy when they get flipped to 12/12 from 24/0 they will stretch like an inch a day sometimes.
good post spek....maybe this is why there are different opinions on this subject, as the best on/off schedule may depend on the style of growing you are doing....not to mention the environment, strains and a dozen more variables ...so what works for me, may not work for youI absolutely rely on exactly this for my grows now. When I go to flower, I continue heavy LST for the first two weeks, and by then, my flower tent is beautifully full.
At 18/6 I noticed that the plants stretched more in veg, so I couldn't plan/time my runs the same way.
If you have lots of height in your veg *and* flower tent, 18/6 will give you a taller, busher plant. 24/0 typically for me gives me a small, very strong stemmed plant that is exceptionally easy to LST to how you want it.

Yep, that's why I take everything with a grain of salt, and try to focus and emphasize the fact that this is 'my' grow, and what works for 'me'.good post spek....maybe this is why there are different opinions on this subject, as the best on/off schedule may depend on the style of growing you are doing....not to mention the environment, strains and a dozen more variables ...so what works for me, may not work for you

IF I am unarmed, how come I am able to notice that the resume you provided has absolutely nothing to do with knowing how to grow Cannabis."Nice story. I can say ego stroker. I'm not going to play mind games with one so unarmed. Chow.
