You heard wrong, bucko. Read about EC/PPM and buy a meter before you even order a bucket. Then order the 3 for $12 at Home Depot. Better buckets than Hydrofarm sells for $13 apiece. If you think they can't be fucked up from DWC scan the pages here.
i know all about it, just dnt know about dwc,, what they mean by plans feed as they need it then, i watch video after video that what they keep saying...

Buy a bucket, buy an airpump, a netpot, clay pebbles and rockwool.

I started off mine in a 2x2 inch rockwool cube, then placed that into my 8inch wide x 6inch deep netpot filled with pebbles.
Container is 50l, but you could do with one slightly smaller. I like to have enough space for the roots to move around freely, also water/air circulation is better.

Agree with these guys. It's not that DWC is difficult, it's just that you have to be more 'aware' of your grow.
Having said that, it's not a massive amount of work. If your willing to spent 30mins a day on your plant, then there are no issues.

Soil is the easiest. What are you having issues with in soil?DWC you have to stay right on top of it. Daily. Those who refute that . . well go ahead and take their advice and end up with a bucket of slime. DWC grows the biggest for sure.
im tired of buying dirt tired of wondering if the ph in my soil is 6.5 i know how to test ph of soil just dont think its very reliable then i got to move pots her and there flush then worrie some moor about my ph just dont want to fuck with soil no moor plus it takes to long to rise or lower ph in soil hassle to me and ph seams to always be my prob......with dwc you only got to top off the the water as it drops then every 7 to 10 days add new fresh water to it making sure its ph-ed then do it again next tie you refresh the water thats my understanding of it but im just now reading up on it and from what i read its less hassle then soil...

DWC is extremely pH sensitive. Res has to be changed weekly. EC/PPM checked daily (to do it right in my book), water added. Check for root rot. It is not easier than soil I promise. But you can watch the plants grow it is so fast.

I encourage you to do it but NOT with the idea it is easier or less work. There is a sharp learning curve, especially if you just jump in. Monkz is right. Get a bucket and net pot lid that fits it. But buy a Hanna Primo EC meter and use it on the soil grow for practice while you gather the rest of the goods. Air pump, air stone, tubing, RO water (now come those who think all tap water is the same because they can use theirs).

Nah its more hassle because you need to manage ph allot more and you have to manage your ppm and reservoir temperature....

What type of soil are using?

because if your using allot of peat in the soil it's the only time you will have ph problems from my experience.

"If you're new to growing plants hydroponically, words like "Deep Water Culture" can sound like they're straight out of a science-fiction movie. Compared to soil gardening, hydroponics looks more complex - but it's really not!

The different ways of hydroponic gardening (nutrient film technique, deep water culture, ebb and flow) might sound confusing, but once you break it down and understand what's going on, it's deceptively simple.

We'll take a look at one of the simplest and most popular methods of hydroponic gardening today - Deep Water Culture, or DWC."

Downsides of Deep Water Culture
  • In small systems, pH, water level, and nutrient concentration may fluctuate wildly
  • In small systems, opportunity to over or undercalibrate is VERY easy due to small scale

growing cannabis isnt easy, it is a commitment and there is a learning curve and DWC is a bitch to nail down. if you cant get a soil grow going, you WILL burn your plants with nutes.
im just tired of ph in soil i dont burn plants, but my ph seams to dro

i see what you saying about checking shit all the time that is not heard for me i check shit every day, just in soil its like a guessing game some times with the ph. like checking shit in just plain water seams right on point and if its off and needs adjusted seams easier to do, like soil u chang the ph in soil it can take a while to fix it, in dwc seams like u can fix every thing right then in there, i dont have problems growing weed at all just dont want to mess with soil any moor
