what is the difference between an alive and dead persons eyes?

people say when you see a dead person, you can see it in the eyes. theyve just got 'that look'. what is it that makes it different than an alive person? obviously the muscles are relaxed, but is that the only thing?

i saw someone crash and die on a motorcycle you could tell he was dead because he was staring straight into the sun with his eyes open. its a surreal look

science is the reason we can unnaturally grow the good stuff

Anyway when you die your brain dies therfore killing the "life line" to the eye the optic nerve , also all the muscles in the back of the eye stop working, the pupils will fully dilate and eyes look glassy as they are dead still. In a normal living person, your eyes move thousands of times a minute adjusting to light. I suspect this is the difference. Also a "look" in someones eye is often accentuated with a facial expression and you only have 1 of them when your dead , Its just different from what we are used to seeing in day to day life.

ahh so maybe the lack of movement is what gets to us. maybe thats the lack of 'life in the eyes' people refer to(urca)
