What is the chance of an indoor setup catching fire?

Hey guys,

After three or so months of learning via tons of reading, I purchased EVERYTHING I would need in order to have a very successful grow op. indoors.

I'm using ~8-10 CFLs in my closet where my grow box is, measuring 3 x 2 1/2 x 3. I have done my own wiring of the sockets and for my 6 inch duct fan. Now i'm not an electrician, but I have general knowledge on how to splice wires and make connections. It just worries me having all of this power in one location.

I'm still living at home, which is most likely why i'm so worried. Not worried about it being discovered; i'm 23 and i just graduated university, i very much am given my privacy.

I worry for the well being of my parents and my own life should something radical happen, like it shorting out and catching fire.

Someone shed some wisdom upon my being.

P.S.- i will take pics today of all the wiring jobs and the grow area it self so you guys can be the judge.

Check in the grow room design section.
There's an electrician that helps people out.

If I were in your shoes, I'd play it safe until I had confirmation that all is well.

make sure wires are correct gauge , splices have wire nuts and tape , all plugs should have grounds and pluged on protected power strip, keep all combustables away from bulbs, splices and plug strip, keep grow area clean and for piece of mind you can get a battery power smoke detecter and a small fire extinguisher. better to be safe than sorry. with cfl's your prob. not pulling to much power so as long as you do the above you should be ok. oh and hang the power strip on the wall less chance of water contact when watering. hope this helps.
