What is the best??

What is the most SILENT air pump available? I set up my basic DWC kit today and the air pump is actually way louder than i thought so good thing it was $8. I dont need a pump that big at all, right now im using a 3w pump @ 1.75PSi and its is adequate. +rep for anyone that can show me the quietest pump around !!

i am using a 3w pump @ 2.5 psi.... i dont think its going to get much quiet than that...you can hear a faint hummmmm if you are standing infront of the grow room with the door closed. but its no big deal to me.. do you have it mounted with rubber feet... or have it hanging?... the more you can reduce the vibration the pump is giving to the surface it is touching the less sound you will hear...Cheers!

You can usually cut the noise from an air pump a lot by suspending it in air with rubber bands or a light weight bungee cord.

That's the ticket actually. I didn't think it would get much more silent then that but hanging it freely with rubber bands reduced the noise a lot. thanks RIU

i just got some cardboard and cut squares that fit under the pump... i dont know if its the layers(my be a tiny bit of air cushing between layers) of the fact the little feet are not touching anything , but its cheap and worrks to , and u dont have to hang somthing

thanks ryan but my pump is already mounted on the wall with a hook so hanging it works better anyhow. good suggestion though thanks
