Mason jars are cute for about 1/2 ounce. If you get bigger nugs, it's hard to fit them in the mouth of them. They do sell quart ones that have about a 4" lip on them which is nice. Wal-Mart had some that were one GALLON mason jars for $9 each. Picked up a dozen while I could.
Just make sure you open the jars and let them air out once every week or two. That's all you need to do to cure the weed, it'll get more crystalized and smoother tasting the more its in the jar till its about 6 months old. Good to keep for a year or two if you actually keep weed that long.

Just the jar opening and closing every bit will solve this issue. Or, be neat and clean your jars with soap and water first lol.....
Most contaminants on dry herb (or herb drying) is from the air. I bleach the walls of my curing room every day before a harvest to kill ANYTHING in there.

If you can't fit a bud through the mouth of a mason jar .... wow!
I keep my bud in jars ... glass jars usually about 6$ for 12 at wally world. Trichomes stick to plastic so your ziploc bags aren't a good idea. When I've got my smokables out I usually keep it in smaller jars (little rubber gasketed ones i found at the dollar store)
Remember, keep 'em dark ... apparently thc doesn't like light once its harvested *shrug*

Even if the gallon jars arent 100% positively air tight, they have a rubber seal and screw on so in no real fantasy will it ever be a problem lol........
Most of my nugs I save are long top colas, so they dont fit in the jars more for the height than the width...... THe gallon ones hold em about a foot tall....
