I really want to try out the magnifying glass and the good old sun. I was really looking for ansers on what type of lighters are the best to use, bic vs torch or even if zippos are the way to go. I found that hand held vaporizor but it is like $150 and i rather make one.

bu then again i dont like the way the cheapo gas station lighter fuel tastes either in a bowl.
so i only use bics or torches.
I prefer the torch though cause it allows me to inhale more thc per hit since it burns more weed @ one time

Hand torch, Torch lighter, they are lighters that burn really hot. You can get em for welding but you want the small handheld piece that burns butane. I've seen some use the large propane tank torches. A glass wand is a small glass tube with a glass bulb on the end, except the glass bulb has a small hole. Typically these are used to smoke meth in. You can vaporize pot in them though and yes, you would need a hand torch or a propane torch. Torch lighters won't cut it. THey're flimsy pieces of shit that break very quickly and can't be used frequently. It's part of the dope game since they use them to smoke meth and such.
They run about 5-15 bucks depending on what you get and if it's pyrex or not. Alternatively you could make one by using your porch directly applied to a lightbulb till it pops in a small spot .You want to delicately try to open the hole a little bit, torches tend to leave smaller holes than gas stoves, which can also be used. Lighters will bust before you pop a hole in them. Cleean out the lightbulb by busting the ceramic or glass piece that isolates the input connector. You can remove the metal and all but getting a nice clean break on the glass inside is a trick. Getting it not to chip back too far while you clean it out is also a trick.
All in all though....when used to vape pot, it's highly inaccurately, likely to break from the torch lighter a dozen times before you learn to do it right, and made me feel like a fuckin' tweaker. So all in all....aint even worth it.

If you can't afford a $600 machine....stick to the bong yo. Acrylics are the way to go. they're cheap, efficient, durable, can hold a good stash chamber, and if you spill em, they don't have much water. To put a stash piece on you need a good headshop with a few spare part for brass/SS pipes. They should have a pipe with a stash chamber on it. Remove the L joint and pop in a straight connecter of some kind and you'll have a bong with a stash chamber.
