What Is The Best Light Cycle For Feminised Seeds ?

I germinated a bunch of feminised seeds (Purple Wreck, Afghan Kush, Lock Stock, Super Skunk, & Hash Plant Haze). All have broken the surface I am pleased to say. The AKs & HPH are 2 weeks old and the PWs, LS, & SS are 1 week old. They are in a room w/ other vegetating plants that are on a 24 hr MH light cycle. Since the seedlings are fem., is it ok to leave the light on a 24hr. cycle or should I set it to 16/8?

yah, just treat fem seeds the same way that you treat your reg seeds.. don't have to do anything different or special with them..

They are all right! Remember, these seeds are pre-proven to be women. Now, changing lights, nutes; kr whateve, can change, routine. Weed is weed, it likes routine..

forgot to say this b4. make sure your diligent in checking your gals to make sure none of them hermie on you and seed the rest of your crop, fem seeds will do that sometimes if your not careful. how were the seeds you got *feminised*? or did they not give you that info? their is more than one way to do so. you can make a female hermie and use her pollen on another gal or you can get a bunch of females and just fuck up their light cycle on purpose to reveal a *true* female that will not/can not turn hermie from it. then take some colodial silver and use it to make that gal grow balls and so on.

Yeah that's what I've been reading. I have a few years experience with non-fem. & auto flowering seeds, but this is my first time with fem. so I just wanted to make sure. when I germinated my Romulans I used a 15/9 light cycle and got mostly females so I was just wondering if it was practical to do the same w/ these lil guys. But I'll just leave em on 24 & keep everybody in one place and HAPPY!!! Cool...:weed:

20/4 or 18/6 would be kinder on your equipment.....

i've also read that anything above 20 hr's of light is useless to the plants but thats just what i've read, would be interested to see any vids etc showing a 24 hr and possible 18/4 light cycle side by side.

Yeah :) I've read/heard various reports on this one. 24 seems to work well for my vegging girls & cuttings.

Ive read that 24 is better because they get more light to grow and ive heard 18/6 because they grow more when they sleep. I really dont think its going to make a big enough difference either way, i leave mine on 24hr because i dont need a timer and the majority of what i read says 24hrs is better.:joint:

surely your gona need a timer unless you flower outside?

as i understand root growth is done mostly at night and other important respiratry functions are performed when not absorbing light, i've read that plants actually give off co2 during the dark period so they must have a use for the dark period. 24 hrs of light just doesn't seem natural.

Yes you need a timer to flower but we are talkin veg, i dont know about the root growth at night, my aero cloner is full of roots right now with 24/7. Ive used 24/7 since i started growing 2 years ago, ive used 18/6 didnt notice any difference, a lot of things arent natural in an indoor grow.

clones are left under 24/0 did root, which they do. roots grow fine during the day. you dont need a dark period. thats more for if you are using an hps and wanna save money, during the night it stretches mostly, so yeah, it effects growth, your right on that part but i dont like stretched lanky plants and with cfls it makes it much harder to get nice dense plants.
