what is the best grow medium for hydro

i want to do a sea of green method and im on a budget i guess i just want to know the best way

whats up man.
although I do not use the SOG method, my buddy does and he uses the same combo as I do. root the cuttings/seeds in rockwool (little guys 1" i think) and once the roots show is when i stick them in my 3" net pots with hydroton. cheap for sure since you can reuse the hydroton. The root growth seems to be a little better when the medium is mostly the hydroton for me anyways. I am a newbie myself and this is what I have been doing and has worked well. best of luck. peace

well the best medium would be no medium at all, suspended by the main stem in a aero system would put no restrictions on their growth, but for sog prolly a flood tray with rockwool or somethin would work best for you, just check out AL's sog, seems to work well https://www.rollitup.org/hydroponics-aeroponics/15030-batch-clones-rockwool.html

what is hydroton?

It's a porous clay aggregate, shaped into round balls, and used as a hydro medium instead of gravel, also called grow rocks.

Potraost was that your post bout a year back or so telling which mediums worked best with which systems?? VV

I have also used organic peat plugs and or rockwool (depends what you germinated or put your clones into) right in the net pots and surrounded with those clay balls too.
