What is the best germination method?

I am about to begin my first planting and I have read about three main ways to germinate seeds and I just wanted some opinions of which is the best or most reliable way. 1. Put a seed into a sterilized shot glass filled with mineral water overnight to soak it then into soil about 3/16 of an inch and put in dark warm place. 2. Put seed in several layers of moist paper towels and wait until the break the seed coat to put them in soil. 3. Put seeds in small amount of soil, water throughly and wait for them to break ground to begin light cycle. Any help would be appreciated here guys. I plan on getting some good seeds and I don't want to waste money by improperly germinating them.

I just take two paper towels and soak them good. Place the seeds in there and close it up. Place that paper towel packet in a sandwich baggie. Place that somewhere dark. I toss mine into a drawer. In a few days they will pop. Plant the seed taproot down.

Just place the seed about 1/4" - 3/8" below soil surface and lightly cover. moisten soil or seed starter mix and do not let dry...

This method is called the Farmer....... some also call it The Mother Nature way....

I put my seeds in distilled water and let them sit there for an hour most if not all sink I poke at them some lol. I remove them after an hour or two and place them in a paper towel that has been misted and is fairly damp with distilled water. Place seeds on paper towel cover fold them so they are covered and place in a zip lock bag in a dark area check in 12-24 hours most if not all should have sprouted

I do a combo of all three....which has worked for me...but I'd say a heated germ mat improves success.....score'm, soak'm,sprout'm, plant'm......watch until fruit is vapable!
