No, I am using all that right now... Its not that i don't understand or that its too complicated or nothing like that... I just wanted to save on a few hundred dollars .... You know i wish my great uncle was still alive.. he was the hippie type... and he used to talk to my mothe about some of the shit he would put in there...

rusty nail?

Egg?

It just seems like he would just put shit in there that he thought would give something to the plant...... sure in his grows he used soil ..... well this is the 2000 model of hippie here and i want to know if people use stuff like that in hydro....

I think i should have explained my expectations of this post in the beginning.

Thanks for your help guys!

Im glad they calmed down on you jason... hehehhehe
Oh gotcha! I would not recommend putting anything into a hydro system - especially aero that wasn't a quality nutrient product. but your mileage may vary.

Yeah, the best nutrients are sitting around the house... That makes total sense, no wonder there are huge nutrient companies spending millions on research. Takes money to make money, man. Don't be cheap! :)

I am doing my very first hydro grow right now and using Supernatural GroAqua. It's working beautifully and it's very easy to use. I'm using it 1/8 strength right now (my plants are seedlings) and they're plugging right along and growing rapidly.

For flowering I'm using FloraNova one-part bloom. Of course I don't know how it works yet but I bought it because the hydro store near me didn't have the Supernatural BloomAqua, and having seen the good reviews of FloraNova on here, I felt confident buying it. The guy at the hydro store said FloraNova nutes were his favorite.

For a total hydro noob, however, I feel totally confident recommending Supernatural. I'm not having any of the problems I read about others having with nute burn. Of course, I'm also using way less than the recommended amount. Thanks to all on this site who taught me that! :)

Re: Superthrive -- I'm using it in my reservoir, one drop per gallon. So far so good. I'm also using it on my outdoor soil plants with good results.

My water is 200 PPM

2900 PPM? Crazy but true!

My mentor was the one who taught me everything I know about hydro. I'm actually old school organic soil. I bought a system he recommended but didn't believe him when he told me to run 2900 PPM. I would run no higher than 1700 PPM.

Then one day I checked out his system. Holy shit! It was fukin unreal. I went right home and boosted 2900 PPM. Been there every since.

I have a bud the size of a football growing in my closet right now. I've never seen anything like the growth rates I'm experiencing right now. Can't wait to add CO2.

From my research, here's what I've concluded:

FoxFarm is REALLY good for soil (their Ocean Forest/Light Warrior soils are great as well).

I'm currently using the FoxFarm lineup in hydro, and it's working amazing. The only complaint is how messy it makes everything since it's organic, but any organic will do that :P When it comes to synthetics, I'd definitely suggest DynaGro compared to the others. Stay away from AN =p

that is incorrect. asking what nutrient is best can be the start of a holy war. It is akin to asking which is better: hydro or soil. CFL or HID

Windows or a Mac.
ford or chevy?

well - you get the idea.

but to answer your question - mattso101 is right - any nutrient designed for hydro will be more than adequate for your grow.
I can answer those questions...
Hydro
Hid
Mac
Chevy
